About Lacey

Lacey was bred by the late Judy Thomas of Beauvest Kennels in Seville, Victoria.

She joined Alison at eight weeks of age alongside her littermate, Maya. From the beginning, Lacey was the confident and bossy big sister, and that relationship has changed very little over the years.

Established in 1972, Beauvest became well known for traditional Australian Cattle Dogs and the preservation of respected, old-established bloodlines with exceptional temperament. Alison is proud to have Beauvest heritage represented within the FAREWELLHILL breeding program.

Alert, intelligent and highly resourceful, Lacey is usually the first dog to announce the arrival of a visitor. She is also a clever problem-solver and has been known to find her way through a fence when particularly determined.

Show Achievement

Lacey was shown only once but made the occasion count, receiving:

  • Best Baby Puppy – Australian Cattle Dog

Although her time in the show ring was brief, Lacey went on to make an important contribution to the development of the FAREWELLHILL family and breeding program.

Lacey’s Personality

Lacey was originally the leader of the FAREWELLHILL pack until her daughter Skip decided she was ready to take over the position.

Fearless, confident and remarkably friendly, Lacey has a strong personality and keeps a close watch over everything happening around her.

She loves playing tug-of-war and has never met a soccer ball she couldn’t destroy. Lacey is also very fond of travelling and will happily jump into almost any vehicle if she finds an open door.

Always attentive and watchful, she is an excellent natural watchdog.

Lacey as a Mother

Lacey has raised four litters, with her puppies going to a variety of homes throughout Australia.

She has been an excellent and devoted mother. Two of her daughters, Skip and Joy, became important members of Alison’s breeding program.

Now retired from breeding, Lacey continues to enjoy her permanent and much-loved home with Alison and the FAREWELLHILL family.
