We are passionate about breeding healthy, intelligent and well-balanced dogs that remain true to the traditional Australian Cattle Dog: strong, loyal, capable and devoted to their families.
Preserving Traditional Bloodlines
The history and heritage of the Australian Cattle Dog are incredibly important to us. Our breeding program has been developed around carefully selected and respected bloodlines, with a particular focus on preserving the traditional qualities of the breed for future generations.
Every planned litter is thoughtfully considered. We carefully assess bloodlines, temperament, health, structure and breed type when choosing a pairing. Our aim is not simply to produce puppies, but to make responsible decisions that positively contribute to the future of the breed.
Health and temperament are central to our breeding philosophy.
We select breeding dogs with the goal of producing puppies that are physically sound, confident, intelligent and able to adapt to a variety of lifestyles. Appropriate health and DNA testing form an important part of our breeding decisions and help us make informed choices for each planned litter.
Australian Cattle Dogs are naturally alert, loyal and protective. We want our puppies to possess these valued characteristics while also developing into stable, well-socialised dogs that can become trusted members of their families.
We love Australian Cattle Dogs because of their incredible versatility. They are capable working dogs with the strength, stamina and determination to handle livestock, including stubborn cattle. They can also excel in the show ring, dog sports and other activities that challenge their intelligent and active minds.
Most importantly, they can be deeply loyal and affectionate companions.
Our goal is to produce well-rounded dogs with the potential to succeed in a range of homes, whether they are destined for a working property, the show ring, an active family or life as a much-loved companion.
Our puppies are raised with genuine care and attention from the very beginning. Early handling, positive experiences and socialisation help prepare them for the transition into their new homes.
We take the responsibility of breeding seriously and want every FAREWELLHILL puppy to have the best possible start in life. We also carefully consider prospective homes to help ensure that each puppy is matched with people who understand the breed and can provide the time, training, activity and companionship an Australian Cattle Dog needs.
